i am pleased to announce that two of my pieces have been accepted into the exhibit "double vision" to be held at studio2gallery in austin -- studio2galery is located at 1700 south lamar, suite 318 in austin, texas -- the opening reception will be april 9th from 6.30 - 8.30 -- the exhibit will run from april 9th through may 7th -- please attend if at all possible as studio2gallery always has top notch art -- check out the website -

in the products of the earth, we often find the panacea to our ills, the solutions for all our difficulties are just waiting to be discovered -- you must just open your mind to the possibilities that are present -- composed of seed pods from the joshua tree, eucalyptus seeds, acorn tops, chestnuts, died seeds, acrylic paint, and fired clay

this piece is representative of pollen -- whether from trees, flowers, or other plant life-- its very exisitence is life continuing -- constructed of sweet gum seeds, metal, chinese amber, and glass beads embedded into the seed -- the glimmer of life expectant

mata paper, wool roving, handmade paper, and reed-- a piece of such a fabric for a particular purpose -- in this case prayer or spiritual communion

11th annual salado wildflower art show

i will be in salado, texas for the 11th annual salado wildflower art show on march 26th and 27th-- it is held at the salado civic center - 601 north main street in salado, texas -- hours are from 9.00 - 4.00 on saturday and 9.00 - 4.00 on sunday --

inspired by the tribal head dresses found throughout the south pacific -- comprised of wood, paper, horse hair, metal ring, and beaten metal rods


this piece is constructed of dyed wood inlaid in a wood base -wood beads,paper,hardware cloth wrapped with carpet warp, fused glass, and found object finish the piece

deep sea dweller detail 1 and 2

i have added details of deep sea dweller for those of you who would like a closer look

deep sea dweller

on the floors of the earths oceans are hot thermal vents that support a myriad of life forms -- one that has most interested me are the tube worms that inhabit these areas-- this piece is an interpretation of this life form -- made from handmade paper rings and jute wrapped with carpet warp tipped by handmade paper-- thus emulating the worm(wrapped elements) and the protective tubes that house them(handmade paper rings) the piece is 31inx25inx3in
