memorium

i am broken beyond repair -- my great and best friend, oscar silva passed away in his sleep on sunday - we have lost a talented and clever artist - he will no longer urge us to look at objects for the art that is inherent in their very structure - no longer to push the limit - we are left a little hollow by his leaving us -- he was the best person i have ever known - he was everybodies one true and good friend - he will be missed - i am a little less now, as we all are --- v

Hi Varner, I'm very saddened by the news of Oscar leaving us. Such a talented artist and gentle person. His laughter will remain in my memory for a long time. I'm blessed to own one of his small art pieces, and knowing that his hands made it, it will be cherished forever. Bless you and family.

Varner, We just heard the news of Oscar's passing. My heart just hurts for your loss, for all our loss. Both of you have been such wonderful and good friends from the short time we met you at Buda Fest in 2011. You encouraged me to try different markets; you and Oscar were so generous with your encouragement and love. You both always made time to visit with us when we saw you each and every show. He will be sorely missed. I will keep both you and Oscar in my thoughts, meditations and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear that Oscar is no longer with us and that his art will no longer be going out to the world. His art was so amazing and filled with his warm spirit. I will miss visiting with him and with you at shows. What will you be doing with his remaining art? If you will be selling any of it, I am interested in getting a piece or two. When you are able, please let me know. Also, if you need any kind of help, PLEASE ASK. I would love to help in any way. -- Victoria Paschich flappai@yahoo.com

I was going through my business card file and came across Oscar's card I got (with a bright smile) from him at a show at the Pearl in San Antonio several years ago. I am so saddened to hear he has died. I can see by reading all of these lovely comments that a great man has left this earth. I am sure that his creative spirit has inspired many. As a tribute to him I will be picking up my watercolors tonight. Life is too short. Sending love and light to every person he held dear.
